I Actually Feel Sorry For the Lakers

I do not feel sorry for the Lakers for the jokes. I find them funny. Especially this one.
I don't feel sorry for them about Dwight Howard. They should have known what they were getting into. I mean the guy said he would waive his opt-out, got a coach fired, and then demanded a trade anyway. How could they think it was a good idea to bring him on board? They could have gotten a better fit in place for Andrew Bynum.

I do feel bad for the circumstance though. Why do I feel bad about the circumstance? CP3. The Lakers had pulled off a move for CP3. They actually had a trade to which the Hornets agreed to bring in the best point guard in the NBA. A guy that would have paired brilliantly with Kobe and co. Perhaps the best team player in the league. Someone that would have given them a legit shot at a few title runs and set the team up for the future. Now, the Lakers are stuck with where they are at and it is all because David Stern nixed the move.

Don't get me wrong, I like Chris Paul on the Clippers. I love watching the Clippers play. Paul paired with Griffin is an absolutely thrilling tandem to watch. These guys are awesome. This whole thing is wrong though. The Lakers made the deal. The Hornets got better people in the deal with the Lakers. Yes, this deal helped the Clippers and made them an awesome team to watch, but it severely damaged two teams. It also led to the outside perception that David Stern is damaging the league. He is fixing the NBA to his terms and doing a bad job.

I do not like David Stern and I am actually with Lakers fans on this...Chris Paul should be a Laker. Unfortunately, we never will know what would have happened. We can just remember that the dictator of the NBA turned down a trade that would have greatly impacted the NBA. The ripple effect on the Lakers is just not fair. I do not like the Lakers, but this is a joke.

Pau Gasol has not been the same and has to wonder daily now whether he will get traded. All because our commish turned it down. It ruined the Lakers. It took away a contender. It is a shame.
I will never forget those two hours that Chris Paul was a Laker.

Kendrick Perkins Takes a Shot @ Andrew Bynum

I was looking at the great website over at Project Spurs and saw this gem. It was an article about Kendrick Perkins being asked the difference between guarding Tim Duncan and guarding Andrew Bynum. If you want the analysis over at Project Spurs, then click on the link. My analysis will be below. Anyways here is the quote.

"Well, Duncan is smart”

Ouch. Burn.
It sounds worse than it is though. Duncan has one of the highest basketball IQs we have ever seen. He is also an incredible team player that knows how to help his team in each situation. It is one of the reasons that the Spurs have won all these years. This was said in a poor way and I have though and I have to assume that Andrew Bynum isn't too happy about it.

Lakers Forward Charged With Felony Assault

If the Lakers wanted a playoff distraction, this was not the one they were looking for. Forward Jordan Hill was charged with felony assault for allegedly choking his girlfriend. Hill faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. Whoops, looks like that Derek Fisher trade where they also gave up a 1st rounder might backfire on good ol' LA. This probably won't affect Hill's status on the court if Kobe Bryant's situation is any indication. Don't choke women and treat them with respect you turkey.

Ron Artest: New Name, Same Idiot

If you didn't know that Ron Artest was an idiot, consider the fact that he changed his legal name to Metta World Peace. It is also important to know that Ron Artest is the idiot that ran into the stands igniting the Pacers-Pistons brawl a couple years back. Yesterday, the idiot completely decked James Harden with a vicious elbow. That could have seriously injured Harden and absolutely cannot be tolerated. Artest will claim that it was an accident and that he was just celebrating, but look at the video and see for yourself. Even if you could justify that was the reason, and you can't, this is that look at me attitude I was talking about with Dwight Howard. Again, this nonsense doesn't happen in San Antonio. Watch the video here with the brawl right below.

This guy has got to be suspended big time

Greatness Should Be Recognized

Normally I would not say nice things about the Los Angeles Lakers. I have never been a Lakers fan and in fact cannot stand the team. The team they played last night is one of the teams I rooted for growing up. So, why am I talking about the Lakers then? I wanted to acknowledge Andrew Bynum's amazing performance last night. Bynum had 30 rebounds against the San Antonio Spurs last night. That is absolutely incredible. As someone that loves these gritty performances, this is my favorite stat that I have seen in a while. Due to this performance the Lakers were able to beat the Spurs without Kobe Bryant. These guys are going to be tough to beat in the postseason if Bynum plays like this. What a game.
