Albert Pujols: I Am Second

As you should know by now, this blog is about promoting positive things that people do in sports. It does not always end up happening, but that is the goal. Another goal is to promote high quality athletes and people. This includes sharing their motivational stories and learning a little bit more about them. Today to accomplish this goal, I am going to share this I Am Second video from Albert Pujols. This guy is one of the top 10 position baseball players that I have ever seen. Seeing his testimony about how he lives life is absolutely awesome.

I will always be a fan of Albert no matter which team he joins. We are all always second. Support strong Christian athletes.

What Motivates Sam Bradford?

You may know Sam Bradford as the former Oklahoma standout, who now plays for the St. Louis Rams. The guy with a very weak supporting cast that never complains and always tries to find the bright side of everything. A good teammate in a league with so few. Someone you don't have to worry about off the field. Oklahoma's pride and joy that won a Heisman trophy and nearly a national title. However, there is so much more to Sam Bradford.

Last year Bradford sustained an ankle injury and missed 6 games. He seems fully recovered though and ready to roll. His teammates are excited about this year. Last year the Rams looked pretty terrible and went 2-14, but look to be much stronger this year. Bradford had Stephen Jackson and not much else. His defense never stopped anybody. The team by all accounts stunk. Sam Bradford remained upbeat through it all though and said that better days were ahead.

How can he be so confident and why am I talking about him?

I am doing this because I know more about Sam Bradford. I know that he is a man of God and that he has put himself 2nd. Bradford will achieve, it may not come right away in the NFL as far as playoffs go, but it will come. When it does come, Bradford will give all the glory to God who deserves the glory. My Favorite Starting Pitcher

When I posted my all-star ballot, one of my friends asked to see which pitchers I would pick for each side for the game. I can tell you that when I release that later this week, this guy will be one of the guys. He is my favorite starting pitcher and he is not a Baltimore Oriole. The guy I am talking about is Dodger pitcher Clayton Kershaw.

Kershaw has filthy stuff. He won the Cy Young last year. He pitches for a 1st place team. Not only all of those awesome attributes, but Kershaw is also a great person. Additionally Kershaw is a good Christian man. He is an actual role model that kids can look up to. What a novel concept for a celebrity. The picture of Kershaw and his wife here is from a trip to Zambia where Kershaw was doing mission work. Such a great positive example. Watch his I Am Second video.

Tony Dungy: I Am Second

One of the main reasons that I rooted for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is that I had a tremendous amount of respect for Tony Dungy. The presence of Dungy, Dunn, and Brooks on the Bucs made it easy to root for them. When the Bucs fired Dungy, I didn't root for them again until now this year. I love the presence of Tony Dungy on the sporting world and he is a coach that I try to use as an example of how to coach. Dungy proved that you can be a faith-filled man, a family man, and a good man while succeeding as a coach at the highest level. This guy is the classiest coach that I have seen at any level. A lot of young coaches can learn a great deal from Mr. Dungy. I know that I learned a ton from Mr. Dungy. I strongly urge each of you to watch this video even if you are not a religious person. Tony Dungy is just an awesome man.

Josh Hamilton: I Am Second

Earlier today, I posted a video about I Am Second. Because of that video I posted, I wanted to post my favorite video from the website. This one is from Josh Hamilton the best player in baseball. The guy who has overcome more than any other I can think of. This guy's story is amazing. Everyone should get a chance to learn something from how he did this. Absolutely amazing. Matt Barkley: I Am Second

Matt Barkley is the best college quarterback and my favorite college quarterback. I think he will be far better than anybody from this past draft. This guy is something great. If there wasn't a reason to like him before, here is a video of his from I Am Second.
