Seminole Baseball

The Florida State Seminole baseball team is one of the classiest teams in all of college sports. The tradition for the team is unparalleled and Mike Martin is a class act. He also has 1700 career wins. Steve Melewski over at MASN had some really nice words about the Seminole baseball program today. Just like all Noles, Melewski is a class act. Steve was out radio broadcaster in the mid 2000s and is proud of his time in Tallahassee. The Seminole baseball team is one to be proud of. Dick Howser is the best coach in college baseball. Where Are They Now?: Marshall McDougall

Marshall McDougall is a former infielder for the Florida State Seminoles. He is best known for a May '99 game against the Maryland Terrapins where he went 7 for 7 with 6 home runs. In addition to the home runs, McDougall had 16 RBI and 25 total bases. All of those totals were single game NCAA records by a substantial margin. During the 1999 season, McDougall was also an All-American, finalist for the Golden Spikes Award, and Most Outstanding Player of the College World Series.

It appeared as though McDougall was destined for a very long MLB career full of a great deal of success. However, that never really happened. McDougall only got into 18 MLB Games all with Texas in 2005. He scored three runs and had three hits in 18 at bats. Since then he has spent several seasons in the minor leagues and even one season in the Chinese Professional Baseball League.

Currently, McDougall is playing with the Broncos de Reynosa in the Mexican League. He is hitting .347 with 7 home runs and 27 rbis. McDougall is playing 3rd base for his current team. The team is qualified as a AAA team and McDougall is hot right now. If McDougall keeps this up this will be his best professional season. He is 33 years old and maybe can make a return to the bigs? This is a very very interesting story. Maybe this is something to follow and see if McDougall can get back.
