I just watched the media session which had interviews from Brian Matusz and Matt Wieters on last night's game. If you know anything about the O's you know that their starters like to sugar coat their outings and say they just were unlucky or some junk like that. It has been pretty pointless to post an interview from them. However, I thought these tidbits from Wieters were interesting.
"His stuff is leaps and bounds better than last year. That's the first step. He's just got to get back to pitching."
"He just got behind early. I think in the spring, he attacked, strike one, and that's a very patient lineup where they're not going to chase on you, especially if you're 1-0, 2-0 on them. I think that's the biggest thing. When he got ahead, he was able to get them out."
That is pretty interesting stuff from the best catcher in baseball if you ask me. Wieters is starting this season in pretty fantastic fashion and let's hope that continues. Because as shirts at protect this yard say you Don't. Run. Ever.
