At the FSU Spring Game today the Garnet beat the Gold. Since it is all FSU guys, we can just celebrate that FSU won. The Garnet team was led by Clint Trickett. The backup QB threw 2 touchdown passes and would seem to be new and improved this season. If you remember from last season Trickett looked good when pressed into action against Clemson and Oklahoma. Jimbo Fisher said "I was very pleased with his control in the huddle." Trickett started out with a bang, throwing a touchdown on the first play to Greg Dent. It was Dent's only catch of the game.
The Garnet Defense was also strong with two interceptions of Manuel. Terrence Brooks ran one back in the 2nd quarter for a 51 yard score. Jeff Luc had the other interception. Cornellius Carradine had 2 sacks in the game for the Garnet. Moses McCray added a sack of his own.
The Gold Defense had 6 sacks. Stevens, Waisome, Jenkins, and Stample all had one sack in the game. Everett Dawkins had two picks. Lonnie Pryor had a short touchdown for the Gold to try and keep it close.
What about the star QB though? EJ Manuel threw 51 passes! He had the two interceptions, but also had two touchdowns. His final stat line was 28-51 for 255. Could have been better, but also could have been worse. So pumped for September. Go Noles!
