FSU is National Program of the Year

For the second consecutive year, the Florida State Seminoles have been selected as the top men's cross country and track & field program. On Tuesday, the Noles were given the honor by the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). FSU is the 2nd repeat winner, joining the Oregon Ducks. They will receive the John McDonnell Program of the Year trophy for their accomplishments. The award is given based upon their being the best comprehensive program in the country. It included performances from cross country and both indoor and outdoor track & field. You can only qualify for the honor if you qualified for all 3 championship meets. FSU has now finished in the top 5 for the National Program of the Year for each of the 4 years that the trophy has been presented. The Noles are the only team to accomplish this.

Head Coach Bob Braman had this to say about the award, "the interesting thing about the award, because it recognizes the excellence in all three sports, you see some of the track-only programs becoming more active and committed to the distance side and in cross country."

Great job by the Seminoles.
