Current Seminole Power Rankings

This power rankings is the top 25 Florida State Seminoles for the year 2020-2021. The list includes athletes returning to the school. Athletes will be ranked by their success to this point at Florida State and for success they have brought to the university. All sports will be considered and included on this list.

25. Elijah Cabell
Baseball So.
Elijah led FSU in slugging and on base percentage this season. He also led the country in hit by pitches with 15. That number is tied for 8th most in FSU history despite the 17 game season. Cabell has really taken it for the team during his time at FSU. Was a member of college world series team in 2019.

24. Tamorrion Terry
Football RS Jr.
Terry has scored 17 touchdowns for the Seminoles in two years. He has 95 catches for 1,932 yards over his Seminole career. The guy has been great despite below average QB play from Florida State. It is hard to rank football players too high though because the team has been absolutely dreadful. He's 15th all-time in yards and touchdowns for the Seminoles. The lack of individual accolades and poor team success leave Terry at 24, but he has potential to move way up these rankings.

23. Alex Knaff
Tennis Sr.
The Seminoles #1 tennis player who was ranked #74 in the nation to close the season and made it all the way up to 56.

22. Isaac Grimes
Track Jr.
Grimes was an indoor All-American this season after transferring as a junior. Came over after winning the Division 2 national championship in long jump. Maintains two years of eligibility due to shortened season because of Covid-19.

21.Raiquan Gray
Basketball RS Jr.
Gray was a starter and one of the best returning players on the only basketball team to win the ACC in FSU history. A team that I believe would have won the national championship if not for Covid-19. He was on the ACC Academic Honor Roll in 2019.

20. Beatrice Wallin
Golf So.
Wallin is a 2 time honorable mention All-American and she was all-ACC in her only full season of competition in 2019. She maintains three years of eligibility due to Covid-19 ending the golf season early. Projected as leading candidate for every major gold award and one of the best returning golfers in the nation.

19. Robby Martin
Baseball So.
Martin was a freshman All-American in 2019. Played a huge part in helping the Seminoles advance to the College World Series that season. Led FSU in batting average this season, started all 17 games. Committed no errors in the field. Robbed a potential game tying home run against the Gators in the Seminoles 2-0 win. Maintains three years of eligibility due to Covid-19.

18. Brooke Bollinger
Soccer RS Jr.
The Seminole keeper has a national championship to her credit back in 2018. She has been a steady force for the Seminoles for many seasons. Her 13 shutouts rank 4th all-time in Seminole history.

17. Kristin McFarland
Soccer RS Sr.
McFarland was on the 2018 National Championship team and played a major role on that team. She was on the ACC All-Tournament team in 2018. McFarland scored the only two goals in the 1st round NCAA Tournament victory this year and did it again scoring the only two goals in the 2nd round victory as well.

16. Dani Morgan
Softball Sr.
Morgan was an important member of the 2018 National Champion Softball team. She also has several individual awards and gets to come back due to Covid-19. Morgan was on the ACC-Academic Honor Roll during the 2017, 2018, and 2019 seasons. She was on the ACC All-Tournament team in 2017 and 2019. Morgan was ACC Tournament MVP in 2017.

15. Alaina Chacon
Beach Volleyball jr.
A perfect 13-0 in the shortened 2020 season. Career winning percentage .742. 2019 CCSA 1st Team All-Conference. 2nd Team All-American in 2019. ACC Academic Honor Roll 2019. Maintains two years of eligibility due to Covid-19.

14. MJ Walker
Basketball Sr.
MJ Walker is the best returning Seminole basketball player from the best team in school history. He has been soaring up some all-time lists in the process. The 2020 All-ACC honorable mention performer and team captain will look to add to his legacy in 2021. Walker is tied for 13th in 3 point field goals and 17th in free throws made.

13. Marvin Wilson
Football Sr.
Wilson is widely regarded as one of the best defensive linemen in the country returning to school and a future 1st round draft pick. He excelled in 2019 earning 1st team All-ACC honors on his way to being a 3rd team All-American. Will probably be the wealthiest of the group, but 3rd team isn't 1st team and the football team hasn't been good, so he's probably lower than you'd expect.

12. Hamsah Nasirildeen
Football Sr.
Nasrildeen was all over the field in 2019 and clearly the most effective player on the Seminole defense. He had over 100 tackles and was the 1st Seminole to do so since 2014. It was Nasirildeen's 2nd straight season leading the Seminoles in tackles. Despite Nasirildeen's success on the field, he was only 2nd team All-ACC in 2019. The defense would have been really bad in 2019 without Nasirildeen.

11. Taylor Banks
Track Fr.
Indoor All-American during his freshman season, but remains a freshman eligibility wise due to Covid-19. ACC Men's Indoor Freshman of the year. Qualified for men's indoor national championship in the 60m. Scored in multiple events for the Seminoles ACC Indoor championship.

10. Yujie Zhao
Soccer Jr.
Zhao was also a member of the 2018 National Championship team. During that season, Zhao was the National Freshman of the Year from TopDrawerSoccer. She was first team All-ACC in 2018 and 2019.

9. Maudie Skyring
Cross Country & Track Jr.
Named an All-American in 2020 for indoor track. Elite cross country runner and track athlete. Earned All-ACC and All-South Region hours in cross country in 2019. Helped the Noles to 12th place finish in cross country in 2019. Skyring will be a Sr. in cross country and a Jr. in track due to Covid-19.

8. Elizabeth Funderburk
Cross Country & Track So.
Two-time all-ACC and All-South region finisher in cross country. 2020 All-American in indoor track. Has the 6th fastest time in program history in the 10,000 meters. Will be a Jr. in Cross Country and a So. in track due to Covid-19.

7. Taryn Knuth
Volleyball Sr.
Knuth is the most decorated athlete on the volleyball team currently. She is a three time All-ACC performer, twice making the first team. Additionally, she was the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2019. The 2017 ACC Freshman of the Year gets better each season and is a superstar inside and outside of the classroom.

6. Jhevaughn Matherson
Track So.
Multi-time all-American track athlete. Part of the outdoor national runner-up 4x1 relay in 2019. That relay broke FSU, ACC, and NCAA records with a 38.08. Scored in multiple events in 2019 and 2020 for the Seminoles including helping drive the Seminoles to the 2020 ACC Indoor Championship.

5. Reese Albert
Baseball Jr.
Albert was third team All-ACC in 2019 and arguably had a better 2020. He had the game winning RBI in the 2-0 win over Florida. Had two home runs in the last game of the season against Illinois State as well. Albert is best known for his key home runs to in the Athens Regional and the Baton Rouge Super Regional that sent the Seminoles to the 2019 College World Series. His two homers in game one of the Baton Rouge Super Regional tied the game in the 7th and extended the lead in the 9th. The fact that he also had two homers in the Athens Regional as well make him a Seminole legend.

4. John Pak
Golf Jr.
Pak is second all-time in golf wins at FSU. This is a school that has produced multiple PGA champions. The current #4 player in the world, and multi-time major champion, Brooks Koepka, attended FSU. Pak was 2018 All-ACC, 2018 ACC Freshman of the Year, 2018 Third team All-American, 2019 All-ACC, 2019 First Team All-American, and 2020 Second team All-American. Ranked 4th in the country by Golfweek during the shortened 2020 season.

3. Trey Cunningham
Track Jr.
Cunningham is the top-ranked returnee in both the 60m and 110m hurdles. He has earned All-American honors for those events in 2018, 2019, and 2020. He has won the ACC Indoor Championship in the 60m for 3 straight seasons. Cunningham finished 3rd in the 60m final in 2019. The conference championship record for the event belongs to Cunningham. The guy also has the ACC record for the event. Cunningham was also on the ACC Champion 4x400 team for the Noles.

2. Ka'Tia Seymour
Track Jr.
Seymour was the 2019 ACC Track Performer of the Year. 3rd place in NCAA in the 60m indoor final. Earned All-American honors in 3 events during the outdoor season. Ran ACC record in 100m outdoor prelim in order to qualify for the finals. An injury cost her the opportunity to run the finals of 60, 100, or 200, which she qualified for. Had the best sprint season for any Seminole Freshman female ever in 2018. She qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 60m and 200m during that freshman season. Was an All-American in multiple outdoor events in 2018 as well. Seymour was an All-American in the shortened 2020 season also.

1. Anna Shellnut
Softball Sr.
Shellnut has quite the list of accolades. She was a major part of the 2018 National Champion softball team. Postseason Annna was on the All-ACC tournament team and the WCWS tournament team that season. She was an absolute monster that entire postseason including home runs in both game 1 and 2 in the championship against Washington. Her homer in Game 1 was the only run of the game and the homer in game 2 sparked the rally that would give the Seminoles the championship. During this shortened season, Shellnut hit a 3 run home run off of the SEC pitcher of the year to help the Seminoles take down #1 Alabama. The superstar catcher has 2 All-ACC Academic teams to her credit as well. One positive out of Covid-19 is one more season of postseason Anna.
