Brooks and Jones join only a handful of Hall of Famers who get to enter with someone that went to the same college. In fact, the duo enters as only the second duo to be 1st ballot Hall of Famers from the same college to enter in the same year. It is already quite an honor to enter the Hall of Fame, but to do it with a fellow Seminole has got to be a thrill for these guys.
Each of these individuals can be considered the greatest of all time at their position. I would say that Jones is the GOAT and have a lot of people who agree with me. Brooks has a bit more competition, but I'd say he is the best outside backer of all time as well. That is quite an accomplishment for the Florida State Seminoles.
Walter Jones was so good that former Seahawks coach Mike Holmgreen said that Jones was the best player he ever coached. Holmgreen coached a guy by the name of Joe Montana among many other greats by the way. What an honor seeing these men accomplish so much must be for Bobby. I think he is more proud of the people they are though.
Derrick Brooks and Walter Jones are better men off the field than they are on it. Brooks has been the NFL Man of the Year for his deeds off the field and Walter Jones is well known for his work in the community. These gentlemen make me proud to be a Seminole. I know that Seminole fans, Buccaneer fans, Seahawk fans, and football fans in general are thrilled with these selections. Well done men, you certainly deserve it.
