Kevin Garnett to the Spurs?

As it appears more and more clear that Lebron will get his first title and the NBA Finals become more difficult to watch, I was looking for a positive story. Not sure this story is it, but it was interesting still.

Recently, the folks over at Project Spurs dissected Kevin Garnett going to the Spurs. Garnett would fill a void for the Spurs that became apparent during the Thunder series. The Spurs did not have an inside presence to go with Duncan that could guard the rim. However, Duncan and Garnett have not gotten along in the past. They have been rivals since Garnett was with Minnesota in his younger days. Duncan also has had this to say about Garnett in the past. Could this possibly happen though?

Just when you think it has no shot of happening, the San Antonio Express News reports that the Spurs will consider anyone and everyone this summer. Then they said the name Kevin Garnett was tossed around, so don't be too quick to dismiss it. Duncan and Garnett would seem to be in the same place in their careers, on the tail end with very few time left and both free agents. However, Duncan is expected to quietly re-sign with San Antonio and nobody knows what Garnett will do. Does that make it more likely to happen?

The Celtics are far more likely to move into a rebuilding mode than the Spurs according to sources. That makes it possible, because Garnett may move to a different squad. Duncan is also seen as one of the most humble guys in the league, if not the most humble. The presence of Duncan has got to make it more likely. I see Duncan being able to put the past in the past more than most guys in the league.

This is not likely to happen, but it is possible. The off-season is all about the possible right? Couldn't Garnett realistically see that he could push a really good Spurs team over the top? I guess anything is possible. Check out the piece from Project Spurs.
